JAKARTA: Starting a new school year 2011/2012, the government will implement character education starting from early childhood education (early childhood) through college.
"Character education materials are also included non-formal education and informal education given the current character to be the most urgent needs," said Education Minister Mohammad Nuh became coaches after the ceremony at the National Education Day celebration (Hardiknas) Year 2011 in the Ministry of National Education, Jakarta, today .
The target of all schools must provide character education and Hardiknas theme this year is the Character Education as a pillar of the National Awakening to Reach Achievement subtema Budi Pekerti cherish.


He reminded the essence of education that has been emphasized by the father of Ki Hajar Dewantoro national education. "Education is an effort to advance the character (inner strength and character), mind, and body protege," he said.
Noah emphasized the importance of character-based education with all its dimensions and its variations. Characters who want to build not just based on sheer self-glory but the glory as a nation.
"The character we want to build not only civility, but at the same time we build a character that is able to grow as the embitterment of intellectual capital to build creativity and innovation," he said.
Minister delivered, the concept of character education has been prepared since last year. He mentioned, there are three groups of characters that is growing awareness education learners as creatures of God the Almighty, the growth of intellectual kepenasaran to build knowledge, and the growing sense of pride in the way of achievement.
"From the achievement craze that later would appear we are the Indonesian pride," he said.
The minister explained, the shape of the character education curriculum is realized starting from culture to culture in the school building.
Character education is not only taught through the board, but must go through acculturation. "Do not get stuck just on the cognitive, but must be translated into the realm of behavior," he said. (Ra)
